Have you noticed lately that certain keywords you traditionally scored high in Google are no longer driving traffic your way? Chances are that you lost the spot on Google SERP. Since the changes that started late July and continued into early August, most all web sites that relied on Google SERP have in one way or the other been affected. Case in point, we are no longer ranked for the keyword “Web Designâ€, it has been replaced by sites like About.com, WikiPedia.org, forums and directories, all of who basically provide no web design service, instead merely provide the definition of the same. Less than half the SE results are for actual providers of web design …

According to one news report, microbiologist Bruce Ivins carried out the deadly Anthrax attacks against “select” Senators who differed from Ivins pro-life ideology. “Killing” someone because they are not pro-life! Does that even make sense? If you cared so much about the life of an unborn child, shouldn’t you be a little more considerate towards fully developed adults? Oh, the irony is, Ivins killed himself.

What if you found a $20 on a sidewalk? Would you be lucky to have found it or smart to have picked it? This example if from a book I am reading currently - “Lucky or Smart - Secrets to an Entrepreneurial Life” by Bo Peabody. We often get freebies we do not expect! if you were lucky, you would just have it coming to you without you making any effort of knowing the source at all.
However, if you are smart, there are various resources online where you can get free stuff, like gadgets. You may dismiss and block these pop-ups/websites that offer a free game console, free iPhone, free …

Not sure if I am reading too much into this, but just yesterday a WP daily builds tester complained of his site being Cracked and partly hijacked using SQL injection, and today, less than a month before the 2.4 version release, a security bug fix! Here’s the message posted on the docs.

DavidAirey.com was recently hacked and completely hijacked. David is pursuing legal channels to restore his site, in the meantime he continues his work and services at http://www.davidairey.co.uk/. This incident should serve as a somber reminder to everyone to frequently change your passwords and keep them secure.

Blogs about Yahoo! Shortcuts plugin is even muffling news about Movable Type OS. Is the plugin that good or is it a hype? To find out, I have activated a beta version of the plugin and thought I will give it a try. This post was one such test. To keep things simple, I decided to write about the plugin itself, what better way to check the magic out. Well, should I say I was disappointed, first the plugin made the whole process of editing a post slow, very slow to be accurate, the plugin itself reloads each time you save the post after a edit. Even more disappointing …

The IE7 development team thought it would make for good PR to pat themselves on the back. Turns out the readers are mostly frustrated users/designers trying to “fix” their otherwise (CSS) standards based work by means of IE hacks. Just skip the content of the blog and dive straight into the comments; that’s the fun part.
