Here’s a fluid bubble chart of the Olympic medal count, the coolest online map ever. Move the scale on the top to get a feel of how powerful this flash powered application really is.
One interesting note in the geopolitical context is how in 1980, USSR, the eastern block, Cuba and all the communist governments dominated the show (in the absence of US), but China, which we believe was strongly influenced by USSR, did not medal at all.
As for this year, the larger dots are mostly represented by developed nations, with only a few exceptions.

Why this sudden proclamation? Well, we have been in business for over a year now and we have had the pleasure of serving folks from across the globe, but ironically, none from Richmond VA, a.k.a ‘our backyard’ per say. The reason is simple, it’s a SEO thing.
If you opened Google and typed in “Web Design”, you will notice us on the very first page, yes, we do web design and we make it very obvious in almost every post of ours and each page. But we being in Richmond, VA is insignificant in the big picture, after all, we never really meet our clients in person, so why should our geographical …

Researchers say they have identified the chemical switch that controls the genetic mechanism regulating people’s internal body clocks. Coincidentally, President Hugo Chavez came up with an alternative way of regulating the internal body clocks of his citizens, i.e. by creating Venezuela’s own unique time zone by putting the clock back half-an-hour on a permanent basis and forcing the whole nation to rise early. Brilliant!

OK, the ordeal is over for the 6 Bulgarian and the solo Palestinian doctor, Sarkozy and his sidekicks got the much needed political boast, but for over 400 children infected with the AIDS virus, the monitory compensation is nothing more than a slap on the face by rich Europeans nations and an utter disrespect to the value of human life, especially the lives of the under-privileged.
Simple math (as we always use) suggest that a child in Africa can be infected with aids (knowingly or due to poor working conditions- whatever) for a million USD, or less than £500,000 per child.
How much will it cost to infect …

Do you get the sense that our politicians and the media jerks alike are trying to make an issue with “skilled immigrants†in connection with the recently foiled terror plot in the UK?
I wish that for once they could just come out and say that the problem indeed are the Muslims and not all immigrants. When was the last time a Chinese or Filipino tried to fly a plane into a building? On the contrary, check this terror attacks map for the 21st century and you’ll soon find yourself running into the same lowest common dominator, A.K.A “Islamic Radicals”. So the …

While the US is busy planning a surge in armed personal in Iraq, their largest ally is pulling out. The Republicans say it is a sign of success, that the Brits are pulling out as they completed the task of securing Southern Iraq. Then why may I ask are they not heading north to help their US counterparts?
Comment or use the Poll and let us know what you think?

Thought this was cool, according to BBC:
Tanzania has been given permission to import rain-making technology from the king of Thailand, Thai media report.
The patented cloud-seeding technique involves aircraft releasing a chemical into clouds to induce rainfall.
How it works?
Aircraft or artillery spray chemicals (often silver iodide or dry ice) into clouds to encourage tiny vapour droplets to coalesce
Droplets of supercooled water (liquid below 0C) coalesce into snow and melt as they fall
Heat released as the droplets freeze boosts updrafts, which pull more moist air into the cloud
I am pretty sure this has been around for a while, had not see it mentioned in the news for a long while though!

Gruesome cases of serial rape and child murder has finally shifted the spotlight on tens of thousands of children that go missing in India. According to NPR, over 45,000 go missing each year and the efforts to search and recover are purely the privilege of the rich. The countries police (who I personally think are a bunch of corrupt dimwits) have not just failed the poor, but the nation as a whole.
Sanjeev Srivastava, India editor of the BBC’s Hindi service writes, “Where else in the world could children be disappearing like they were in Nithari for more than a year without the police registering a case and investigating, …

There are many ways to spend the last day of the year, but this one takes the crown for the “most thought out” way to welcoming 2007. The French, doing what they do best, took to the streets in protest of 2007! They called on governments and the UN to stop “timeâ€? and declare a moratorium on the future. This mock rally did not conclude at midnight, but rather the marchers began to chant: “No to 2008!” and vowed to stage a similar protest on 31 December 2007.
