I heard this in the news today, if a person is caught with “crack cocaine, the sentencing is 100 times more harsh as compared to getting caught with powdered cocaine, hundred times!
This was cleverly designed in the early 90’s to go after the poor, inner-city minorities. While the rich and famous continue to abuse the more refined powdered form of this mind altering drug, the poor get jailed for years for carrying much less. For example, a person carrying 5 grams of crack is sentenced in most cases harsher than a person with 500 grams of powdered cocaine.
If it is not already obvious that the sentencing is unfair and …

A Syrian-born Canadian computer engineer was arrested late 2002 and secretly shipped to Syria for a year, where, according he was tortured and made to issue false confession. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales dismissed all allegation of US wrongdoing and in a profoundly stupid way said “I did not read the commission report on Maher Arar.

The US believes that this man, Ayyub al-Masri is the number one al-Qaeda man in Iraq following the killing of al-Zawahri last month.
Maj Gen William Caldwell, the US military spokesman in Iraq, said “We know al-Masri has been a terrorist since 1982,â€? prior to that, Caldwell said, “He acted as Arab Sheik in cheesy B grade movies.â€?Â
An audio message a few days ago by Osama Bin Laden indicated that a man by the name of Abu Hamza al-Muhajir was the new leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq. The credibility of the successor that the US has identified is not in question, at least not as much as the question of the identity of the successor Bin Laden mentioned. Confused? So are they.

And no one hates it more than Americans when someone develops technology (however primitive), which may include the words like “missile,” “bomb,” “nuclear,” “open-source,” or “environment”.Â
America probably has more missiles, bombs, nuclear and other arsenal (WMD) than everyone else put together, yet they fear a 1996 model Korean crap. Even if this missile flies across the Pacific, at best it will hit Alaska. Those of us in the continental US might wonder, so what, we can evacuate the 12000 or odd people from Alaska via boats and get done with it, but wait, isn’t Alaska where the oil fields are? This might be a good time to panic!

Three men held prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba hung themselves to death. Rear Admiral Harry Harris, the camp commander (read US spin doctor) said “They have no regard for life, either ours or their own. I believe this was not an act of desperation, but an act of asymmetrical warfare waged against us.â€? He continued, “They are smart. They are creative, they are committed”. Gee, this guy is a trip, I wonder what he’ll have to say about Marines killing innocent civilians in Iraq, “tactical error, unforeseen consequences of war, rookie mistakes.â€?

Another Bush crony get nominated, so what’s new. In speaking to the Senate Committee, General Hayden said “Intelligence works at the nexus of policy-making between the world as it is and the world we are working to create.” Unfortunately, our liberties mean nothing to this a**hole, what he really is working on creating is a police state, where the big brother will watch over all of us, assuming that we may or may not be talking to some Arab. Some might insist that there is nothing to fear if they listen in on our conversations? Why fear unless we are guilty, to them I say, “go to North Korea, you will fit in there real well.â€? …

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has written a letter to President Bush proposing “new solutions” to their differences. In Washington, Bush’s National Security Adviser, Stephen Hadley, said Monday that he was not aware of any such letter. Handley said on NBCs “Todayâ€? show that “ we stopped receiving snail mails in 1989, we prefer emails.â€? Iranian officials called this move a distraction from the real issue at hand by switching the spotlight on Iran’s lack of computing technology.Â
Microsoft was quick to jump in and support Ahmadinejad’s administration stating that “Windows 95 is still a very stable operating platform, and blamed the issues on the Atari 65XEP that France sold to the Iranians in 1989.
