The “Smear Campaign” has started. No we are not talking about the US presidential race, we are talking CMS! Have you visited Planet WordPress lately? For a new comer, it will look more like a Movable Type blog than WordPress, and if that were not enough, the MT folks can’t seem to keep their egos in their pants and try endlessly to add fuel to the fire.
For the sake of history, here’s how the events unfolded.
First there was Movable Type
For what it is worth, Movable Type is responsible for the popularity of WordPress. The licensing debacle of MT resulted in defectors opting …

The June 4th floods have raged for over 2 weeks now, and Bush finally made time to get there. In the mean time, Red Cross Midwest has set up a site on WordPress.com to provide updates, at some 240 posts over 10 days, this site provides updates that are brief and some very detailed instructions to those in the affected region.

We are running a poll on our site, we have a candidate in mind that we would like to endorse and promote. We would like your opinion to help us figure out if we are all on the same wavelength (or not). What will the outcome of this pool mean for our reader? If the majority of the readers support the same candidate as us, we will promote heavily as we did in the past, if not, we will limit it to occasional posts. Why would it matter? Because we do not want to distance our readers for any reason, our primary interest is in your servicing you. So go ahead and poll, don’t wait!

CNN projects that Nevada will go to Hillary. I thought it would never come to this, but I must say this to get it off my chest. I rather have Bush run this country down the toilet than Hillary, I am not sure what I dislike about her, I guess everything. Anyone but Hillary please! Tell us who you would vote in the polls.

It’s quite simple, if I lost my wife, mother, daughter, son, or my father to military aggression, I too would wear a belt bomb. Why the heck can’t they figure this out? Violence begets violence.

I took the backseat for much of this debate that has been raging for a few weeks now, but it’s time for my response. At Headsetoptions, we are two designers with over 70 themes to our humble credit, some original, some modified and most ported from free CSS templates designed by our friends, and most of our themes created with the aid of sponsors. Why am I saying this, and why now? Well, today, there was a huge cry about “Sponsored Themes” on a popular download site and hoards of users and designers decided to jump on the “kill the designers” bandwagon …

Mac lovers, eat this!
Microsoft has partnered with Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and built into the latest version of Microsoft Windows (Vista), innovative energy-saving solutions, that can save customers about $50 each year for every desktop computer equipped with the new software.
On the contrary, the Board of Directors for Apple Inc “unanimously? opposed proposals calling for an elimination of toxic chemicals in Apple’s products, and a comprehensive take-back and recycling program.
Still think Apple is cool? Think again.
On the same note, here’s a poll question: What is important to you in a company/consumer product? Cost or environmental responsibility?
Comment or Poll.

Q) What do you do if you are the most corrupt corporation in America and more than likely not going to enjoy being protected by the Republicans following the 2008 election?
A) Move to the Middle-East.
That’s right, at least that is what Halliburton is planning on doing. This move is as political as it is for business reasons, this corruption laden oil giants know how to protect their assets, after all, their most powerful advisor is working right from within the White House. Thanks Cheney for f***ing everyone!

Thought this was cool, according to BBC:
Tanzania has been given permission to import rain-making technology from the king of Thailand, Thai media report.
The patented cloud-seeding technique involves aircraft releasing a chemical into clouds to induce rainfall.
How it works?
Aircraft or artillery spray chemicals (often silver iodide or dry ice) into clouds to encourage tiny vapour droplets to coalesce
Droplets of supercooled water (liquid below 0C) coalesce into snow and melt as they fall
Heat released as the droplets freeze boosts updrafts, which pull more moist air into the cloud
I am pretty sure this has been around for a while, had not see it mentioned in the news for a long while though!
