    Sorry, I left these comments on the wrong post!

    Is it easy to customize the header on this theme w/ an image? I love it, but would like to plug in a logo instead of the text. Great work!

    Also - I notice that the posts are short and then say “Read More.” Does it only display a certain number of characters and then readers will need to click? Is that an option that can be turned off so that the entire post can be displayed?

    @ Oz

    You can substitute the tetx in div class=”logo” to an image. Currently it is set to 600px wide. The search bar is in the same header div, so if you have a logo greater than 600px, the search bar will drop. You can change both styles if needed in style.php

    As for the post excerpts, you can change that to full post by editing index.php and look for

    <?php the_excerpt (’Read the rest of this entry »’); ?>

    and change that to

    <?php the_content (’Read the rest of this entry »’); ?>

    Hi - I love this theme! I’m having a hard time figuring out how to use the featured post section though. One site said I had to add “Featured” to my categories, but that didn’t seem to work when I tried a test post with it categorized as featured.

    Can you help me figure this out - I’m sure it’s easy & right in front of my face, but hey it’s 7pm on a Friday! Thanks again!

  11. hso says:

    @ Kate

    The featured post will be under a category called “Featured” with a capital “F”, not “f”. So check if your category is set right, if not, change the way it is spelled. Hope it helps!

    i have contacted my hosting and they i do no have a folder or someting but i dont know how to make it have it because i am not really web savvy

    thank you

  13. hso says:

    @ hanz

    Looks like the issue is with your permalink structure (which appears to due to a missing or write-protected .htaccess file)

    Here’s what you can do to check and possibly fix the issue on your server:

    1. Disable clean permalink (structure) from WP Admin > Options > Permalinks by selecting the default structure
    2. If then you are able to see your single posts, then go to 3, if not, got to 7
    3. Access your .htaccess (which will be in the same location as your WP folders/files
    4. Change the permission on that file to 777
    5. Change Permalink back to how you have it set (looks like it is set based on URI/%category%/%postname%/)
    6. Open the .htaccess and check if the changes are recorded, if so, change the permission back to 555
    7. If the issue persists, update your WP version to 2.3.3 or check to ensure your database recognizes the categories featured, islam…etc

    can you detail out how to do it? another how to remove the rainbow like image at the top of this theme tq

  18. hso says:

    @ hh

    I did not try it, but this is what you need to do to add an image in place of the text, you can do it using CSS only.

    Open style.php and look for this:

    #header {
    background : transparent;
    height : 83px;
    width : 950px;
    padding-top : 0;
    margin-left : 0;
    margin-right : 0;
    margin-top : 0;
    margin-bottom : 28px;
    border-bottom : 1px solid #aaaaaa;
    text-align : left;
    }

    Make it

    #header {
    background : url(img/LOGONAME.jpg) no-repeat;
    height : 83px;
    width : 950px;
    padding-top : 0;
    margin-left : 0;
    margin-right : 0;
    margin-top : 0;
    margin-bottom : 28px;
    border-bottom : 1px solid #aaaaaa;
    text-align : left;
    }

    Note we added the background image called LOGONAME.jpg, change that to whatever your image name is.

    Add another set of style to hide the text that is in place currently:

    #header .logo {
    float : left;
    padding-top : 20px;
    padding-left : 0;
    padding-bottom : 0;
    margin-left : 0;
    border : none;
    width : 560px;
    text-align : left;
    display : none;
    }

    Note we added display “none”.

    As for the search, it should float over the image we just added.

    To remove the rainbow colored image, open style.php and look for this:

    body {
    background : url(img/bgtop.jpg) repeat-x;
    text-align : center;
    color : #< ?php echo $tbox_featurebg_font; ?>;
    }

    Remove

    background : url(img/bgtop.jpg) repeat-x;

  20. Nelis says:

    Hi,
    first i like to thank you for a great theme!

    No i have a question about the Featured section.

    It seems like posts in de featured section have no HTML applied to them. Links and images don’t come up and Header tag don’t work.

  21. hso says:

    @ Nelis

    The featured post uses the_exceprt tag to show only an excerpt, if you want the full post, open index.php (Main Index File) and look for this:

    <div class=”featurepost” id=”post-<?php the_ID(); ?>”>
    <h1><a href=”<?php the_permalink() ?>” rel=”bookmark” title=”Permanent Link to <?php the_title(); ?>”><?php the_title(); ?></a></h1>
    <?php the_excerpt (’Read the rest of this entry »’); ?>
    <div class=”meta”>Posted on <?php the_time(’F jS, Y’) ?> by <?php the_author() ?> in <?php the_category(’, ‘) ?> <?php if (function_exists(’the_tags’)) { ?><?php the_tags(”, ‘, ‘, ”); ?><?php } ?></div>
    <div class=”meta”><?php comments_popup_link(’Leave a Feedback »’, ‘1 Feedback »’, ‘% Comments »’, ‘commentslink’); ?> | <a href=”<?php the_permalink() ?>” rel=”bookmark” title=”Permanent Link to <?php the_title(); ?>”>Read more »</a></div>
    </div>

    Change the

    <?php the_excerpt (’Read the rest of this entry »’); ?>

    to

    <?php the_content (’Read the rest of this entry »’); ?>

  22. Nelis says:

    That did it!

    Hi!

    Thanks for a great theme. There is one problem though, IE6 makes it look different. I tried the browser on your demo and the problem is still there.

    The navigation (with keywords, tags, comments and search) and the widgets is under the articles, not to the right.

    What to do?

    Best regards
    / ola

  32. hso says:

    @ Ola Hedin

    There was an issue indeed, thanks for pointing it out. You can either re-download the theme or use this simple IE hack.

    Open style.php and look for this:

    .TabMenu li a {
    width : 100%;
    padding : 5px 9px 5px 9px;
    margin-right : 3px;
    display : block;
    background : #< ?php echo $tbox_featurebg_font; ?>;
    color : #fff;
    float : left;
    text-decoration : none;
    }

    Make

    width : 100%;

    to

    width : 100% !important;

    Add one more line below that

    width : 0;

    Your final code should look like this:

    .TabMenu li a {
    width : 100% !important;
    width : 0;
    padding : 5px 9px 5px 9px;
    margin-right : 3px;
    display : block;
    background : #< ?php echo $tbox_featurebg_font; ?>;
    color : #fff;
    float : left;
    text-decoration : none;
    }

    What this essentially does is tells IE6 to not take the 100% width into consideration. That will keep the sidebar within the 360px it is supposed to. Hope this helps.

  33. Ola Hedin says:

    Hi HSO

    Magic! Tried your code at once and it works perfect. Thanks for an amazing support!
