I think I know what the problem is, if you had copied and pasted the code as is from the tutorial, it adds a space after to avoid executing the code in the blog post, this also prevents the code from executing in your template. Just remove the space and it should work.

Thanks so much. I’ll look at that. One of the problems I’m having is that the background image (bg.gif) doeesn’t repeat well. Any ideas there?
