You are right. I never use widgets so I never bothered to check and assumed that the widgets plugin will default the heading to h2.

i went way out of my way on the calendar, but it’s not shown as part of the judging. oh well.
the other thing that’s not part of the judging, but worth styling are the select’s for the category and archive dropdown widgets.

and AFAIK, the sandbox never uses h2’s in the sidebar, widgets or not.

Exactly my point n(t)u, steer clear of trouble from IE users by staying with a format that works in ALL browsers. All the best with your design!

IE does display .pngs, of course, it just doesn’t trouble to display them correctly.

The thing that nearly tripped me up was forgetting to style the calendar widget, since it’s not in the default sidebars. If the judges don’t bother checking this now, I will spit.
