newfangled is an awesome theme. i am a newbie, but have reviwed thousands of themes and this is the coolest one.
anyway, i installed my wp in its own directory, blog, and moved the index.php file to the root so the blog will resolve to http://www.mydomain.com instead of http://www.mydomain.com/blog.
once i made this change, the user registration functionality no longer works and i wanted to know what needed to be changed here.
any help would be appreciated!
you can check out the latest at http://www.labruinbear.com/index and test out the install
thanks!

With WordPress, you are not required to move your index file to have the blog show up at an alternative location. Here’s waht you do:
1) Move your index file back where it belongs.
2) Log into your WP site.
3) Go to Options > General
4) There, you’ll find two options to enter your URL’s. The first is the “WordPress address (URI):” this is where your site resides (yoursite.com/blog) and second the “Blog address (URI):” this is where you want it to showup (yoursite.com)
5) Hit update options button and it should work.

You could just re-load the theme and check!

if i reload the theme, wont all of the other functionality that has been added be removed or overwritten? i just need the code for the left side panel and nothing else.

@ labruinbear
Save a copy of all the changes you made, then reload the theme to see if it works!
