Saddam Dead, US Game Over

saddamMy peeve with Saddam’s death is not so much because the world lost a kick-ass dictator, but because he was the only one capable of keeping the 28 million or so idiots of Iraq from killing each other. Looking back at his (Saddam) heyday, Saddam had the majority Shea and the non-Arab Kurds in check (although by sheer brute force), which the current Coalition (read US & UK) forces cannot in a hundred years. I think the real loser in this story is not Saddam (yeah I know he lost his life!), but rather all of us, so thanks for spoiling my day!

I agree completely. Check out my article on popular doctrine for my reasons. For the Americans to interfere in this whole affair is a grave error, and may spawn even more insurgents who feel they were robbed of Iraqi justice.

you’re right, man, poor Saddam was made as the axis of the axis of evil.. now he’s gone and all the evidences got washed away with him - no one will know who and why did the true shizzle in Iraq.

True. Makes me think of with Tito in Yugoslavia. It’s another story, but after he died the trouble started. Dictatorship cannot be changed to democracy within a couple of years. May the USA gain wisdom and bring real peace for all.

[...] In summary, somewhere along the spending spree, 1) we forgot all about bin Laden, 2) blindly theorized the 21st centuries Domino effect (fight the terrorist in the East, so they will not make it to the West) and 3) facilitated a civil war in an extremely sectarian Iraq by eliminating the only stabilizing factor, especially at a time when Iran is speedily cooking its Uranium.
