    Hi,
    Very nice minimal theme, i like it and using it right now after making it a little lighter.:D
    But there seems to be some bugs:
    First of all, the counter code isn`t in the footer, but in de sidebar template, so documentation isn`t correct.
    [quote]- The ritecounter code can be deleted from the footer.php file (leave it there if you don’t mind)
    [/quote]
    there`s lots of javascript too but missing .js files.
    prototype.js
    scriptaculous.js
    lightbox.js
    nifty.js
    I found out, in IE, there`s sometimes difficulty loading the page, the problem seems to be counter code in sidebar.
    You can see template in action on my site.

  1. 2. hso | August 7, 2006 #

    Counter code is in the sidebar, my bad, go ahead and delete it. As for the JS script, I was testing Lightbox 2 and forgot to remove the code, either ignore it or delete from header file. Thanks for your feedback. I went ahead and made the necessary changes.

  1. 3. A | August 25, 2006 #

    Whats the easiest way to indent the sub categories?

  1. 4. hso | August 25, 2006 #

    @ A

    Open orange.css in a text editor like notepad. Look for the TITLES block with h1, h2, h3 details.

    Change or Add padding code such as this below

    padding: 0 20px 0 20px;

    this will place the header/sub to be unique position on the page. Play around with the numbers to find the right spot.

  1. 5. A | August 25, 2006 #

    Thank you hso,

    I am afraid I wasted your time, I thought this was the K2 Redux Warhol theme. I tend to skim things too fast.

    Can the K2 Redux Warhol theme be edited in the same manner?

  1. 6. hso | August 26, 2006 #

    @ A

    Yes you can. Open style.css and look for this section of code:

    .pagetitle h2 { /* H2 is what kind of page you are on. Eg. 'Monthly Archive'. */
    font-size: 2.4em;
    font-weight: bold;
    letter-spacing: -1px;
    text-align: left;
    display: inline;
    }
    .secondary h2 { /* Secondary H2 is sidebar headlines */
    font-size: 1.5em;
    font-weight: normal;
    padding: 0;
    display: inline;
    }
    #primary h3, #primary h4, .permalink #primary .aside h3 { /* H3 is entry headlines. H4 is comments and replyform headlines */
    font-size: 2.2em;
    font-weight: normal;
    letter-spacing: -1px;
    display: inline;
    }

    Add a line like padding: 0 0 0 10px; to get a left padding on 10 pixel, the three zeros prior to 10px is for padding the top, right and bottom respectively.

    I have alot of links to list, and I wanted to know if there was an easy way for me to have the links organized by the name of their category? I know other themes do this is it as easy as copying code from another theme into orange? If you look at my site,(www.omahamiyagi.com) it just says Blogroll. But I changed the name of that category and added 2 others but they don’t show up.

  1. 8. hso | August 27, 2006 #

    @ J-Rock

    Refer to this thread (ignore the second part of that comment):

    http://www.headsetoptions.org/2006/08/16/tree-theme-released/#comment-407

    All you need to do is amend a code in your sidebar! Themes Tree and Orange both have the same backend files.

  1. 9. Rajkumar | August 30, 2006 #

    Beatiful theme.
    I just want to know to make all black, without the gray vertical stripes.
    Also if it is possible to the complete width of the screen or maybe the width is fix.

    Thanks
    Rajkumar

  1. 10. hso | August 30, 2006 #

    @ Rajkumar

    Are you refering to the gray dotted lines between the posts? You can amend them by removing a line of d=code from orange.css, look for this code:

    /* meta */

    div.meta {
    border-top: 1px dotted #ccc;
    margin: 18px 24px 8px 24px;
    padding: 4px 8px 0 0;
    }

    delete the line border-top: 1px dotted #ccc;

    Full width, you can try but I am not sure about it.

    I’m sorry but I need to delete the “About 3K2Redux-Warhol” section, but I’m not a technical guy so even viewing the page source I cannot identify the file where I can delete this… any help on this? thanks a bunch for a nice theme!

  1. 12. hso | August 31, 2006 #

    @ chris

    Open WP Admin, go to Presentation, then click on Theme Editor tab, find sidebar on the right from the list and click. Now you will see the codes from sidebar. Look for this line;

    “Delete from here to”

    and delete everything up to this line

    “to here, leave if you don’t mind”

  1. 13. hso | November 1, 2006 #

    @ Peter

    Apologies, it’s time for Orange V2!
    here’s the fix.

  1. 14. Moshe | November 28, 2006 #

    Great theme…a few questions. if I want to customize this a bit, like replace “flicker” with say “Leica User Gallery”
    and “blogrol” with “links” how do I do this? - Thanks

  1. 15. hso | November 28, 2006 #

    @ Moshe

    Open sidebar.php, replace “My Flickr” with “Leica User Gallery”.

    Then go to WP Admin and log in, click on Links from the main menu, then click on Links Categories, then edit “Blogroll” and change the name to “Links”.

  1. 16. mizia | November 30, 2006 #

    Hi. Orange V2 is a fantastic theme, thank you so much for it.

    But I have one question, whenever I write a new page, as in a static page let’s say “About Me” or “Contact Me”, I’ll see a typical post sort of page, with the words… posted by so and so on this day and time under this category.

    I managed to get rid of the comments box for each of my static pages, but lost as to how do I edit the page itself.

    Could you please enlighten me. Thank you.

  1. 17. Martino | November 30, 2006 #

    I can’t see the tab K2 Custom Header & K2 Sidebar Modules on my Theme menu.

    It’s a default setting or it’s a problem on my installation?

  1. 18. hso | November 30, 2006 #

    @ Mizia

    Since this theme does not use a WP page.php or single.php page, it will show up when you creata a page. But you can fix it!

    1) Create a file using Notepad and name it page.php

    2) Upload it to your theme files folder

    3) Copy and paste the content of index.php into this page.php file

    4) Delete every line from :

    to

    /div>

    in the page.php file.

    If you can’t figure it out, let me know and I will make and post the file for download.

  1. 19. hso | November 30, 2006 #

    @ Martino

    First off, you are not using my theme, so I can not tell if it is causing it. But usually the theme will not affect your WP Admin tabs.

    Second, check to see if you plugin for sidebar widget is active. If not activate it, if so, deactivate all other plugins (if you are using more than one) then turn one at a time ad see if any plugins are interfering with each other.

  1. 20. mizia | December 1, 2006 #

    I tried doing it, but wordpress still shows the ‘Default Template’ and the ‘Extended Archive Template’.

    I guess it’s best that I get help from you, before I make a mess of the site, lol.

    Thank you.

  1. 21. hso | December 1, 2006 #

    @ Mizia

    If your site is showing the default theme, you need to change it to show Orange V2 first from WP Admin > Presentation > Themes

    Also, send me your site URL for me to check.

  1. 22. Andres | December 8, 2006 #

    Hello,

    I like your theme orange, good job.

    However, I can not make it to work properly.

    There are many pages that throw an error saying that the themetoolkit.php has already sent the headers.

    Do you know what is causing the problem?

    Thanks,

    Andres

  1. 23. Sunny | December 9, 2006 #

    Hi,

    a great simple word press theme this is. I’ve gotten everything working but was just wondering, what causes the ‘grey’ line break between posts? (as seen in the testsite)

    I thought it might have been date, but most of them have the same date, so that’s not it.

    Thanks in advance :)

    Cheers.

  1. 24. hso | December 9, 2006 #

  1. 25. hso | December 9, 2006 #

    @ Sunny

    I do not see the line breaks, check this and tell me if you see it in your browser:

    http://www.headsetoptions.org/play/index.php?wptheme=Orange

    If so, what browser are you using? Can you send me the link to your testsite? Thanks.

  1. 26. Sunny | December 10, 2006 #

    Thanks for the fast reply.

    I don’t see that break on the site you linked me to in your last post.

    My site is http://www.heartunderblade.com/blog

    The grey break is right at the bottom.

    I’m using firefox v.2

  1. 27. paul | January 20, 2007 #

    hi there. really like the theme. re: pictures (and soon video) … rather than using some online pic service (like “my flickr”) is there a way for me to use a bunch of my own pics, simply uploaded to some folder in the theme’s folder? thanks very much.

  1. 28. hso | January 21, 2007 #

    @ Paul

    You cannot use the exisiting code to display images from a source other than Flickr, but I am sure there are plenty of CSS or Java scripts that do the job.

  1. 29. Jackie | January 26, 2007 #

    Hi -

    I am a new WordPress user, and downloaded your Orange theme to try out. It took me some time to figure out how to do things like modify/swap out the header image, and so forth, but I finally got that done. The theme itself looks very nice with the dark black and orange colors. We have an ArtDeco theme on our site, so I modified things to look like that. I am wondering how I might be able to change the small figure/people that are next to the comments, to a custom image? I would guess it is somewhere in the CSS, but I don’t know where.

  1. 30. hso | January 26, 2007 #

    @ Jackie

    The image itself is in the “img” folder, the stylesheet info of interest is in css/orange.css file and here is a copy:

    ol.commentlist li {
    list-style: none;
    margin: 0 24px 12px 0;
    padding: 12px 12px 2px 16px;
    background-image: url(../img/user1.gif);
    background-position: 14px 9px;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    border-left: 6px solid #dedede;
    }

    ol.commentlist li:hover {

    background-image: url(../img/user2.gif);
    border-left: 6px solid #E28E12;
    }

  1. 31. paul | February 6, 2007 #

    hi again. thanks for the reply about adding video and pics to the site. i’m quite new to this stuff so i must ask… what does it mean “cannot use the exisiting code to display images from a source other than Flickr, but I am sure there are plenty of CSS or Java scripts that do the job.”?

    does that mean i need to write new code (or have someone do it) and embed it into the theme?

    thanks

  1. 32. hso | February 7, 2007 #

    @ Paul

    No, you can find a free Java or CSS based slideshows and add your images instead of using Flickr.

  1. 33. Rock | February 14, 2007 #

    I have an install question…should I install the contents of orange3 in my themes folder and then copy and past the contents of the orange3 plugin folder in the plugins folder?

    When I’m done, do I delete the plugin folder from the themes folder since the info is in the plugins folder?

    Hope that makes sense.

  1. 34. hso | February 15, 2007 #

    @ Rock

    Yes, move the plugin folder to the wp-content/plugins/ and delete it (or leave it) from the themes folder!

  1. 35. Rock | February 19, 2007 #

    I’ve changed all of the font types to Verdana, Arial, Helvetica in the style.css for Orange v3…but when I preview the site, the blog name/title, headline date and headline title are still the original serif font…any reason why they’re not changing?

  1. 36. headsetop | February 19, 2007 #

    @ Rock

    Change this:

    #header p {
    font: 9px/10px ‘Lucida Grande’, Verdana, arial, sans-serif;

  1. 37. Rock | February 19, 2007 #

    This is what it looks like now:

    #header p {
    font: 9px/10px ‘Verdana’, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    color: #ccc;
    margin: 0 0 0 25px;
    width: 310px;

    The entire page is now Verdana, except for the post title & date and the blog title which are still Lucida?

  1. 38. hso | February 19, 2007 #

    @ Rock

    Strange! Did you change the “Lucida” font in all instances? Send me your URL, I will check!

  1. 39. Rock | February 19, 2007 #

    Can I e-mail the website URL?

  1. 40. headsetop | February 19, 2007 #

    @ Rock

    Ok!

  1. 41. Rock | February 22, 2007 #

    The font issue is fixed! Now I’m wondering what code to use to remove the blog title and tagline from the header so I can create a custom header?

  1. 42. hso | February 22, 2007 #

    @ Rock

    Open header.php, find and delete these codes:

    ?php bloginfo(’name’); ?

    and

    ?php bloginfo(’description’); ?

  1. 43. Rock | February 22, 2007 #

    Cool…do you guys have a CSS reference doc for the Orange3 stylesheet?

  1. 44. Rock | February 22, 2007 #

    I’m also wondering why the blogroll doesn’t automatically show up in the categories section?

  1. 45. hso | February 22, 2007 #

    @ Rock

    No reference docs. Blogrolls can be added manually or via the widgets!

  1. 46. Rock | February 22, 2007 #

    I can add blogrolls, I’m wondering why the blogrolls section doesn’t appear on the front page of my blog?

  1. 47. hso | February 23, 2007 #

    @ Rock

    Post your URL on this site for me to see, else I can’t help!

  1. 48. Rock | February 23, 2007 #

    I would post the URL, but my blog isn’t quite ready for the public yet. You know I was looking at the screenshot of Orange3 and I don’t see the blogrolls section on there either? Does this theme not propagate the blogrolls section?

  1. 49. hso | February 23, 2007 #

    @ Rock,

    No theme automatically propagates blogrolls! You can add it if you want. Again, there is not much I can do without seeing your site.

  1. 50. Rock | February 24, 2007 #

    Let me explain it this way…I’ve added several links in the Blogroll section, but when I view the front page of my blog there is no Blogroll section visible? BUT…when I switch my blog theme to the WP default theme, the Blogroll section is now visible right below the Categories section!

    I believe their is an issue with Orange3 suppressing the Blogroll section from view…unless I deactivated it somehow?

    When I search the WP forums, the moderators advise that if you can view the Blogroll section in the WP default theme, then the issue is with the current theme you are using…hence why I’m contacting you.

  1. 51. headsetop | February 24, 2007 #

    @ Rock

    There is no issue, I just have not added the WP tag that calls for blogroll on this and most of the other themes we release, we think it is a waste of precious real estate. If you want blogroll, all you need to do it open sidebar.php and add this line of code with < and > :

    ?php get_links(); ?

  1. 52. Rock | February 24, 2007 #

    Now we’re getting somewhere…I posted this modified code:

    It works, BUT it adds a triple space between link entries? Is the code right? Do you know what might be causing the spacing issue?

  1. 53. hso | February 24, 2007 #

    @ Rock

    The code is right. If you want me to help any furthur enter your site URL or stop posting here.

  1. 54. Rock | March 1, 2007 #

    New issue…there is no “previous entries” or “next page” link to view my additional posts? Right now I have my front page settings at 15 posts, which has been surpassed, but no link appears.

    theidiotnation dot c

  1. 55. hso | March 1, 2007 #

    @ Rock

    Here’s a good resource to add next/previous tag of your choice!

  1. 56. Rock | March 1, 2007 #

    C’mon…I promise I’m almost done bothering you guys.

  1. 57. hso | March 2, 2007 #

    @ Rock

    Add
    ?php posts_nav_link(); ?

    between < and >, right after  ?php endwhile; ?>

  1. 58. Rock | March 2, 2007 #

    Excellent…thank you!

  1. 59. Vern | April 18, 2007 #

    Hi- GREAT theme. This one is perfect for me! I just have to change the height of the header image. I tried resizing the height of the image from 200px down to 100px and that left a 100px black bar at the bottom. I would like to have the height at maybe 120px. Is that easily done? I’ll edit down the image to make it 120px, no worries there… but what to change in the code? Again, awesome theme. Thanks a lot! Vern

  1. 60. Vern | April 18, 2007 #

    sorry guys - I was at my 3k2 redux theme when I hit a link to find you at this page. I didnt notice you had a diff. theme up there! I have the 3k2rdedux!

  1. 61. hso | April 18, 2007 #

    @ Vern

    Open style.css and look for these lines:

    #header {
    padding: 0;
    margin: 0;
    position: relative;
    height: 200px;
    background:url(images/head.jpg) no-repeat #000000;
    }

    Make the height from 200px to whatever you want!

  1. 63. headsetop | May 12, 2007 #

    @ hongyui

    I could not see any // // on your pages, could you send me some screenshots?

    HI,
    thanks for that theme, which is really nice, so nice thaht I used it for my vlog, changing the images and the format. About the format, do you know why it doesn’t show the same thing n IE and Firefox? My sidebar is OK in Firefox, but not in IE.
    Another point : do you think that Ritecounter can cause troubles for quicktime embeding? I have troubles since yesterday, not knowing why…

    Thanks very much

  1. 66. Dating site reviews | October 28, 2007 #

    great theme

  1. 67. hso | October 28, 2007 #

    @ iForex

    In your stylesheet, you should have styling for UL LI (unordered list), provide a left padding and it will automatically double the padding for sub categories (which will indent it).
