Answer, these were children drowned to death (in a bathtub) in 2001 by their mother Andrea Yates. Today, a jury in Huston, TX, found Yates not guilty by reason of insanity. The defense said she suffered from severe postpartum psychosis and, in a delusional state, believed Satan was inside her and was trying to save them from hell. This is a setting example of how faith plays a role in our legal justice system, where reason is overruled by religious dogma and justice is served based on whether your church affiliations.
If a Muslim guy thinks about flying a plane into the White House, the whole nation wants to fry him in a electric chair, but if a Christian lady drowns her kids, huh, no big deal.
If anyone deserves the death sentence, it is Andrea Yates. Our justice system obviously failed baby Mary, 2-year-old Luke, 3-year-old Paul, 5-year-old John and 7-year-old Noah.
