Cost of Life III

As part of the continuing series on ‘Cost of Life’, we profile a country where more people are born each day than preferred, India. The recent attacks on commuter trains in Bombay has left more than 180 civilians killed, with absolutely no response from the Government with the exception of “we will not lose the war on terror,â€? “we will not bow,â€? blah, blah.
Mumbai has been attacked six times in the last 13 years, that’s bout once every two years. Unlike America, the attitude of the recent victims of terror is more appeasing, fearful and calculative, directed only towards preventing communal backlashes, but not resolved to take the enemy head-on.
So far, not one individual has been arrested or punished for any of the past attacks, the very first bombing dates back to 1993, and if the Indian stock market is any indication of the gravity of this attack, the cost of an Indians life is…Rupee 0.
