Da Vinci Debunker Debacle
In an NPR interview about the movie The Da Vinci Code, a pastor in the background can be heard saying, “nowhere in any ancient test is there ever any claim that Jesus was married, there is never a reference to a wife�, another person mockingly says “Jesus wasn’t married, there is no evidence for it�.
Ancient texts also claim that Jesus cured the leper and healed the blind, and he then rose into heaven. No evidence is provided to support these claims either, yet it is acceptable by the church. Is it because it is convenient? Is there a fear that if truth be found, a religion based on lies would collapse unto itself? If it were all a fiction (which even the publishers of The Da Vinci Code claim), why the fuss, why the efforts to debunk it? Is there fear that people might question their faith? Come on, isn’t it time they did.

People who believe in God are already relatively ready to believe anything the Church tells them. I don’t think they’re in danger of losing parishoners. It’s the nextgen atheists they have to worry about, and keeping George W in power will only help the Catholics.
