Students of Gallaudet, the nations only University for the deaf have been blocking the campus gates to protest the choice of its new president. This is the second time the students are protesting, the last time students protested (and won), they got the first deaf president in the school’s history. This time however, the choice of Jane Fernandes as president, who is also deaf has caused a stir where even the protestors are not too sure what they do not like in her. When Mrs. Fernandes was asked about this outcry, Jane responded, “I am not aware of any such protests, I heard nothingâ€?.
