It’s been a while since al-Jazeera offered tapes or videos from their major cash cow the exiled al-Qaeda leader Bin Laden. However yesterday, the 1st quarter report was aired with al-Qaeda recording no gains and blamed the poor performance on Zionist-crusaders and their war on Islam. Mr. Laden was quick to point out that the isolation of the new Hamas-led Palestinian government proves the war was with Islam, and not just its radical terrorist wing. In an effort to divert attention from the failing resistance in the Middle East, Bin Laden mockingly said Western involvement in the troubled Darfur region of Sudan was also a ‘crusades against Islam’.
In a separate news today, a top UN aid official Jan Egeland told the BBC that the Darfur crisis is ‘as bad as ever’, the US government says a genocide is being committed against Darfur’s black African population, yet has no plans to saves the thousands dying each day (except for imposing a travel ban to the region). Another US official said, “Sudan has no oil, no whites, not even black athletes who could play in our major league sports, so why waste time (on them)â€?.
